Sentence Writing | IEP Goal Skill Builder Fine Motor Skills TRACE, COPY and WRITE

This fine motor skills IEP goal skill builder worksheet packet focuses on complete sentence writing with the use of a visual model to reinforce letter formation, spacing between words, and line awareness. Trace and copy sentences to build a theme using a picture and visual sentence model. This IEP Goal Skill Builder packet is appropriate for students in the grade level 1st through 4th grade and those learning about writing sentences, sentence structure, and vocabulary skills. Each worksheet includes three sentences to TRACE (LEVEL 1) and COPY (LEVEL 2).

WHAT IS AN IEP GOAL SKILL BUILDER WORKSHEET PACKET?

An IEP Goal Skill Builder worksheet packet promotes independent work skills for students during academic follow-up lesson, seat work, inclusion in General Education setting, a resource for home school, or skill reinforcement. Each packet hones in on an important skill that is aligned to academic state standards and leads to IEP goal mastery.

CAN YOU DESCRIBE WHAT IS IN THIS IEP GOAL SENTENCE WRITING SKILL BUILDER PACKET? (Each page includes a data box and picture to color)

· A picture to color related to the sentence topic can be used for fine motor skills practice, too!

For Sentence Writing and Structure:

(1.) By MONTH, YEAR, given a visual model and up to three sentences to trace which are related to a topic or theme, STUDENT will TRACE each sentence, with respect to spacing, letter formation, and line awareness, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities.

(2.) By MONTH, YEAR, given a visual model and up to three sentences which are related to a topic or theme, STUDENT will COPY each sentence, with respect to spacing, letter formation, and line awareness, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities.

(3.) By MONTH, YEAR, given up to three sentences to read and copy, STUDENT will _______(prompt level: independently/with verbal support) copy the sentences with regard to spacing between words, letter formation, and punctuation, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities.

EXPANDING AN IEP GOAL FOR SKILL PROGRESSION:

(4.) By MONTH, YEAR, given a visual model and up to three sentences to copy, STUDENT will provide one additional supportive sentence (in writing), in order to continue or conclude the passage, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities.

(5.) By MONTH, YEAR, given a visual model and up to three sentences to copy, STUDENT will provide one (# of) additional supportive sentence(s) in writing, using legible upper and lowercase letter formation, spacing, and punctuation, in order to continue or conclude the passage, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities.

(6.) By MONTH, YEAR, given a visual model and up to three sentences to copy, STUDENT will provide one additional sentence (or # of) in writing, with letter automaticity, using pre-taught spelling strategies, in order to continue or conclude the passage, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities.
