I used this for my own child at home. She was struggling to understand the difference, and this was a great way to show her. She enjoyed coloring the pages at the end and it gave her a little advantage.

Feedback from other teachers about this sentence structure activity. . .

My students eagerly worked through the sentence identification and completed the coloring with more intent and interest than other types of sentence work they have had.

I love using this with my students. I have them prove which type each sentence is, and they love being able to color after to prove their answers are correct.

I loved this resource because it was a different spin to writing sentences. After much serious reviewing for the writing test, and using different types of sentences, this coloring activity provided a learning opportunity and a well deserved rest from the usual. The students loved it, and so did I!
