What educators are saying

Finally an activity that kept my students engaged the entire class period. They absolutely loved this and requested that we do more activities like these. Thank you!

Description

If you are a high school Psychology teacher and are looking for an engaging and hands-on way for your students to learn more about sensation and perception, then you are definitely in luck! "The Great Sensory Fair" stations activity includes eight simulations that encapsulate multiple senses and sensation/perception theories such as taste, location of sound, balance, Weber's Law,, temperature, and touch. Students will work in groups (3 to 4 per group) and will participate in each simulation (directions). Following each simulation, students should answer each question(s) which connect to their understanding of various sensation/perception principles. Each simulation should last between 5-7 minutes and can be completed in a 55 minute class period. Teachers also need to provide materials for the activity (toothpicks, apples, potatoes, change, cups, and orange juice and should clear this activity with administration as students will be consuming food/juice.
