These are great rubrics but I agree with several reviewers, they are a bit much for younger learners, especially if the student is asked to use it independently. However, the rubrics can be used if the teacher is modeling and guiding the student.
I love how thorough these rubrics are. They are very easy for parents to understand when I send work home.

This is a set of 3 detailed writing rubrics to help you evaluate your second grade students' writing!
The narrative, informational, and opinion writing rubrics are designed with a 5-point scale. You can see where students "fall" in each scoring category, as well as what to teach to move them ahead with their writing!
