What educators are saying

I love all of your resources! It is so great to have some different types of writing and crafts to put with it. Thank you very much!

Description

This unit contains materials to teach the three kinds of writing required in the Second Grade Common Core ELA. Students write an imaginative narrative. They imagine that they have to go to the North Pole to help Santa make toys. Students make themselves as an elf for the craft. Students write a persuasive paper . They try to convince their parents to let them have a reindeer as a pet. Students make a reindeer craft to go with their story. Finally, students write an informational piece on conifer trees. Students then make a Christmas tree to go with their writing. I have included examples of each type of writing and ideas on how to teach it. The patterns for each craft are included as well as photos of the finished products. This Christmas writing pack has enough to last through the month of December! The finished products make great hallway or bulletin board displays!
