Second Grade Beginning of the Year Math Assessment Check In Packet

Looking for an easy way to check-in on your second grader's math standing at the beginning of this school year? I know I am!

This product includes a Beginning of the Year math check in packet, which will help you gather assessment information on your students in the first weeks of the new school year.

I have also included a free skill tracker that you may wish to use to keep track of your student information! This tracker features a line for each students name, and a grid including all skills from this packet. I like to use this at the beginning of math class or as an independent work center. Students can take a skill a day!

Skills Included:

- Adding and Subtracting within 10.

-Adding and Subtracting within 20.

- 10 Less/More table within 100.

- Skip count, 2,5,10.

- Identify and write time to the nearest hour.

- Identify coins and add coin values.

- Place Value writing model values and identifying tens and ones for standard form.

- Word problems, both addition and subtraction, within 20. Two differentiated options based on reading ability.**

**Bonus: Skill Tracker. This download includes a skill tracker for all students. I like to fill in the chart using colors, which go similarly with STAR Renaissance scoring.

Green: Expert Understanding

Blue: May need intervention, check in.

Yellow: Need intervention and practice.
