Scientific Notation Task Cards - Math Centers

This set of task cards works great with individuals, partners, small groups, or even centers. Several resources are provided to allow you to use this activity to best suit your classroom!

You will find 60 cards at different Depth of Knowledge levels, appropriate for students at all levels. Topics include converting between scientific and standard notation (including from verbal expressions), correcting errors in scientific notation, comparing numbers in both forms, and using all four operations, both pure skills and word problems.

Differentiation:
Differentiation is so important in the classroom, but sometimes it is difficult to implement. This resource was designed to make it easy for you to differentiate effectively. When I used this with my students, I created different decks of cards for my struggling, average, and advanced students. Once you print the cards, it is very easy to just pull the pages you want and copy them for different groups. For example, you might give just the "naked math" problems to your struggling students. On the other hand, you might pull all the more challenging questions and word problems for your advanced students and leave out the very basic problems.
