Scientific Method: Mystery Box Lab "Think Outside the Box"

This lab encourages the students to "Think Outside the Box!"

This lab is an excellent way to start a school year in the science lab!
It introduces the students to the scientific method, exposes them to the lab and tools/equipment commonly used, and is always a fun challenge!

The lab is easy to set up, low cost, and really fun for the students. The materials can be used year after year.

This lab allows teachers to cover a variety of important science topics including:
Scientific Method
Measurement
Metric System
Precision and Accuracy

The students need to "think outside the box" (Hint: the tape on the mystery box isn't considered anywhere in the mass measurements)
