This packet contains a convenient and portable visual communication tool for students with autism or expressive language deficits. This packet specifically targets requests/items and demands related to the different classes/school subjects students are likely to experience throughout a typical school day/week.
In this pack you will find 13 different school subjects and 2 additional areas (communication and school equipment). Each subject/area comes in 3 different sized communication cards.
Sizes are:
-Large (8 squares)…..available in color and low ink option…..(7.5”x 4.24” vertical)
-Medium (6 squares)….available in color (6”x 4.75” horizontal)
-Small (4 squares)…..available in color (4”x 5” vertical)
Each subject/class has its own unique color to aid with visual discrimination as each comes with an optional cover page to conveniently divide/separate each subject. Both the large and medium cover pages are tabbed to facilitate student’s in finding the desired visual quickly and efficiently.
The different sizes of communication cards are provided to not only aid in the portability of the cards (larger cards on a lanyard, smaller on a wristlet etc) but also to assist students who have deficits in scanning large arrays.

These are portable communication cards/visual cue pack used to augment everyday directives/expectations that need to be communicated to students with receptive/expressive language deficits during art class or art activities.
Students with autism or auditory processing disorders often find it difficult to accurately and fluently process and follow verbal directives. The use of visuals helps assist these students to understand and follow both teacher directives and art class/activities behavioral expectations.
Provided in this packet are:
121 different SCHOOL based directives/visual cues
115 different ART visual cues
85 different RECESS visual cues
Each visual cue is provided in 2 different sizes (4.75in x 4.25in, and 3.25in x3in) to aid portability. Each visual has a labeled tab to make each directive easy to find. Additionally a variety of different colored borders are utilized in order to further aid visual discrimination.

DAILY VISUAL SCHEDULE
An individualized visual schedule helps students diagnosed with autism as:
It utilizes the individual’s visual strengths and therefore provides a receptive communication system to increase understanding;
It helps the individual to learn new skills and broaden their interests;
It provides tools that allow the individual to use skills in a variety of settings;
It can increase the individual’s flexibility;
It helps the individual remain calm and reduces inappropriate behaviors; and
It helps the individual to develop independence and resulting increase self-esteem.
