Two renowned San Miguel artists, born in Europe and educated in Canada. combine their lyrical canvases, creating "A Symbolist Bouquet" at The Gallery, La Conexion Aldama #3. The Gallery - an intimate space in the beautiful colonial heart of central San Miguel is the perfect setting for this very personal retrospective!

Tim Hazell and Marion Perlet are painters who evolved distinctive approaches to their craft over several decades and international exhibitions. Tim has this to say about his work; "My painting has to do with the fire and spontaneity of color and gesture. Music and poetry cross over and influence my palette and themes, as does my European background where folk tales and beliefs run close to the surface of daily life."

Although the artists' influences are eclectic and diverse, the two styles converge.

Painters of the Symbolist movement included Gustav Klimt, Odilon Redon, Pierre Puvis de Chavannes, Henri Fantin-Latour and Frida Kahlo. Artists of this lyric genre used myths, motifs and the pictorial language of dream imagery - private subjective worlds. The Symbolists illustrated their chimera, passions and flights of the imagination!
