What educators are saying
My students enjoyed being assigned a part to read and acting out the scene in class. They learned a lot about the Salem Witch Trials which invoked them to do a little research and gain a little background knowledge for other assignments
Description
This Reader's Theater brings the historical tragedy that was the Salem Witch Trials to an upper elementary reading and discussion level. Although this play is based on the historical documentation of the Salem Witch Trials, the wording and actual depictions of occurrences have been amended to be age appropriate to the upper elementary grades. The main characters are completely fictional and are intended to shed a light for readers on what motives might be causing such strange happenings.
