Saint Patrick's Day Collaborative Poster

This collaborative poster is a great coloring activity the whole class will greatly enjoy doing. It’s perfect both as a starting point or as a final task for a Saint Patrick’s Day unit! 

Update February 2024 : a second file has been added with a new font for "Happy Saint Patrick's Day" (with proper capitalization - which was not possible with the previous fond used)

How to make a collaborative poster in class ?

First, choose and print the option that suits your students the best : the version with the color code written on each image or the one without any indications and let them express their creativity! 

Then, give one or two images per student and let them choose their favorite pencils or felt pens for this coloring activity.Once the 30 pictures are colored, they will assemble them carefully to get a giant poster. The assembling instructions are very clear and simple to follow.

What's on the poster ?

The central character of the poster is a leprechaun, a mythical Irish creature. Shamrocks, a rainbow and a pot of gold can be seen in the background.

Follow up speaking or writing activity

It is always interesting to talk about the content of the poster itself. On this one, there are many symbols related to Ireland and Saint Patrick's Day. Take some time to name them and discuss with your students.

They could then make a research project on the legends surrounding the leprechaun, the legend of Saint Patrick or how the Irish National Day is celebrated (in Ireland and in the world). 

Printing indication

This resource contains 30 pieces (2 pieces per page). When you print and assemble them, the poster is 88 cm x 62 cm (about 34,6 in x 24,4 in). If you adjust your printing settings, you will be able to get a smaller poster.

When the poster is finished and displayed, remember to have a look at your students’ faces : you will notice how proud they are of their own creation every time they step into the classroom.
