Safety Plan - Mental Health
- PDF
Description
This safety plan is designed to help students or individuals who struggle with handling extreme emotions. It starts light, asking for warning signs (identifiers that a crisis is coming), coping strategies, "happy" people and places that an individual can call or visit to cheer up. It moves into supportive people & supportive professionals that an individual can call for help and/or support. Lastly, there is a section for a crisis plan, or a plan to carry out in the event of a mental health emergency. This plan would include hospital choices, people who should know about their whereabouts (parents, close friends, therapist, etc.), plans for pets and/or children, etc. It is highly customizable and can be used for children, teens, and adults alike.
