Explore 10 Sacred Indigenous Sites in Canada - a great activity for National Indigenous Peoples Day, and National Indigenous History Month!

COMPLETELY DIGITAL - NO PRINT REQUIRED - Just Assign and GO!

This digital unit boasts over 60 slides containing information, photographs, images, and links to videos that explore 10 sacred sites to Indigenous People.

The 10 sites are:

  1. Aurora Village
  2. Great Bear Rainforest
  3. Haida Gwaii
  4. Radium Hot Springs
  5. Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site
  6. Writing on Stone Provincial Park
  7. Manitoulin Island
  8. Baffin Island
  9. Kejimikujic National Park
  10. Tombstone Territorial Park

This Unit is completely digital and serves as an information source for students. Appropriate for grades 3 - 6 (for reading abilities and comprehension).

Students will click on the interactive map (so long as they are viewing in slideshow mode) and explore real photographs, images and some videos from the various locations.

They will learn the indigenous significance of each site, the historical relevance, and what this site means to the First Nations people today.

A perfect, stress-free activity for your students to explore during June - National Indigenous Peoples History Month.

This is a google slides unit with 65 slides (60 student slides). Instructions on how to use this resource are also included.
