    Description

Symbiosis is an interaction between organisms where they are so dependent on each other they are nearly as one. This bundle has a power point for the initial introduction to symbiosis: endosymbiosis, mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, predation and free-living organisms. There are examples of each with graphs to display the relationships between the organisms.

There is a one-page brochure style foldable which can be taught alongside the power point. It also covers the five types of symbiosis: mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, predation, endosymbiosis, along with free-living organisms.

Students have places to write definitions and there are data charts included for each symbiotic relationship so students can see how populations are affected by symbiotic relationships.

The foldable only needs to be copied front to back. There are two types of foldables for students with regular note-taking skills, and a second with fill in the blank spaces for struggling students. The key is included. The brochure is small and can be easily glued into an interactive notebook.

The Word wall coloring sheets allow for students to create colorful word wall posters for the classroom while needing to write a definition, example, nonexample and sentence. There are six sheets with symbiosis vocabulary; symbiosis, endosymbiosis, mutualism, commensalism, predation, parasitism.

The 20 question power point can be covered as a whole class activity, uploaded to a classroom website or printed out as question cards. It gives the students an opportunity to apply what they learned to real symbiotic relationships by identifying which relationship is being displayed.

Examples of types of interactions could include competitive, predatory, and mutually beneficial.]
