Description

This standards based, math and language arts program is perfect for the classroom, distance learning or homeschooling. It is structured in a way that is so easy to implement, and students can quickly become confident and independent with the first grade standards.

This print and teach pack for summer is the perfect way to support your students and their families while they are learning at home. This packet targets end of the year first grade skills to prepare students for entering second grade in the fall.

To support distance learning, you can upload this file directly to your password protected virtual classroom, or send via email to parents. Help your students be prepared for second grade in the fall!

This curriculum is structured in a way that parents will appreciate and it gives them daily tasks that are standards-based, simple and straight forward to understand.

Each day, students have a cover page showing them their daily tasks they must complete. A picture shows them the exact activity to do, and they can color the star once this task is complete. Parents love this easy to understand format, and they appreciate that their child is excited to do their work and color their stars for the day.

In the classroom or for homeschooling, these daily printables are perfect for bell ringers or daily warm up/review.

This resource targets first grade standards, but can be used for struggling second grade students or even high kindergarten students.

DAILY TASKS

-------------------------

20 days are included and they are labeled Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc. If this curriculum is used on a Monday-Friday schedule, it will take them through the entire month.

If you print this pack front to back, it only requires two pieces of paper each day.

Primary Language Arts

This daily worksheet focuses on the exact first grade standards I target and review at the end of the school year. My goal for this pack is to solidify and practice skills so students are ready for second grade in the fall! Each day students complete phonics, reading fluency/comprehension and writing.

What is covered this month? Digraphs, diphthongs, consonant blends, sight words, reading short stories with comprehension questions, and writing a complete sentence using a picture word bank.

Primary Math

The daily first grade math page also focuses on specific standards we are working on at the end of the school year. Practicing these standards will ensure that students are ready for second grade!

The format and standards stay the same for the entire week to build students' confidence. This also means that parents don't have to give detailed instruction every single day helping distance learning be much less stressful on families.

If you're using these in the classroom, this also makes an effective and easy to use daily warm up/review.

What is covered this month? Writing numbers 1-100, ordering numbers, writing numbers in sequence (not always beginning at one) skip counting by 2s, addition, subtraction, story problems, 3D solids, counting and identifying coins, and showing numbers 1-100 with tens rods.

Daily Reading Log

Students are asked to read, or be read to, for 20 minutes a day. Then they fill out their daily reading log. This incorporates reading, writing, comprehension, illustrating and so much more.

Students complete the three activity pages each day as shown above, and then there are three blank spots on their daily task pages for you to add additional tasks/activities (optional).

-------------------------------------------------

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL TASKS

-------------------------------------------------

I made the additional task and activity cards with both teachers and parents in mind! These are optional and parents can cut them out and glue them on to specific days as needed. It is a great visual and is very helpful so students can see what they are expected to do each day.

♦ Daily chores/home activities (parents will love these!)

♦ Additional school activities such as math facts, reading for 20 minutes, etc.

♦ BONUS ACTIVITIES - including going on a walk in nature, a look and find hunt around the house for items, summer goal setting and more!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The format of these print and teach packs is similar to my kindergarten morning work packs. It is incredibly important that the format stays the exact same each day, and only the content changes.

The standards change each week, and for the entire week students are practicing the same skills. This brings continuity and structure to each lesson, while building their confidence.
