Fluency with the vocabulary will help high school students excel on assessments and in future college courses. This activity aims to give your students the opportunity to develop this skill with the required vocabulary.

HAVE FUN

You can mix them up or share them by category. Either way, your students will benefit from using the words and thinking of alternate ways to define them. Take advantage of the times that create confusion or when a student can’t think of something to say (that doesn’t include the forbidden words). Open the discussion for the class; “ How else could we describe the term “outlier” without saying the word “extreme?”
