SQUILT Music Listening Journals

Do you find it increasingly difficult to get your students to actually sit through a piece of music without making noises, dancing all over, and eventually falling out of their seats?! Then look no further! These SUILT journals have answered each of those problems in my classroom!

Super Quiet Un-Interrupted Listening Time is something my students (and I!) look forward to! They get to hear a wide repertoire of music and, without realizing it, make all sorts of listening observations about the style, mood, voices, dynamics, and tempo of each piece. There's also a section where they can draw a picture of what comes to mind the first time they hear the piece and give the song a rating.

This product includes the following:
-Student Journals with introduction pages and everything they need to get started
-Teacher Key that includes everything you need to get them started
-An example page for your reference
-Teacher Notes to help you get started on the right track

After each page is done you can assess their observations for a grade, hold class discussions, have students share with small groups, and even compare and contrast each song easily!

Feel free to add or delete center pages to customize your journals for each class.
