Description

These fill-in-the-blank notes are designed to accompany a presentation that delves into the causes of the American Revolution (see Causes of the American Revolution - Presentation in my store), focusing on key events and acts in SPANISH for ELLs.

The notes, accompanied by the presentation provides a brief overview of the historical context leading to the revolutionary period. It includes sections with MODIFIED blanks for students to fill in key information about specific events and acts, such as the Stamp Act, Sugar Act, Boston Massacre, etc. This encourages students to actively engage with the material and the language as the teacher presents (should be printed).

Primary Source Analysis:

    • Within the notes, there is a section dedicated to the analysis of Paul Revere's Boston Massacre engraving. This includes simplified prompts for students to identify elements of propaganda, consider the artist's perspective, and reflect on how such images could influence public sentiment. (The website used for the analysis can be translated into Spanish directly on the site).

Overall, the primary source analysis of Paul Revere's engraving aims to deepen students' understanding of the use of propaganda in igniting revolutionary sentiments. By actively engaging with the fill-in-the-blank notes and key terms in English, students not only document important information but also participate in the analytical process, enhancing their critical thinking skills and historical comprehension with the other students.
