Description

SMARTBoard Ten Frame Templates and Recording Sheets

Build foundational number sense and counting skills with these 12 engaging and versatile SMARTBoard Ten Frame Templates that you will use over and over! Included are six types of Smart Notebook Ten Frame Templates, in two styles, which will help you meet a variety of student needs, as well as printable Ten Frame work mats and recording sheets. You can easily customize each template to create endless practice opportunities for your Pre-K -2nd grade students.

**IMPORTANT! You must have a SMARTBoard to use this file. I cannot guarantee compatibility with any other type of interactive white board.

You will receive:

  • Single Ten Frame Templates (with and without equation and number line): For adding single-digit numbers with sums up to 10.
  • Ways to Make 10 Template: This is such an important anchor understanding for students!
  • 10 + ___ Template:
This helps students see that when they add on to 10, the sum will have that number in the one’s place.
  • Double Ten Frame Templates (with and without equation and number line): For sums between 11-20

You decide which number combinations you want your students to work on and set up the file by dragging cloned circles into place, or writing an equation that students will represent by dragging the circles. There are printable work mats where students use whatever counter you like, such as dried beans or buttons, to represent equations. The printable recoding sheets allow students to record multiple examples on a single sheet of paper as they follow along with the SMARTBoard lesson on their own page. Once students understand the routines, you can even set up customized files for use during math center rotations.

Complete directions are included for customizing the files and saving the templates into the “My Content” section of Smart Notebook Gallery. This will make it easy to access a Ten Frame anytime you have your SMARTBoard on.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
