What educators are saying

I needed a quick & easy Christmas play for the children to perform at church. This fit the bill! It was easily adaptable since it's in Word. I added a few songs & it was a hit!

Description

Students get to step into the Christmas story through this dynamic presentation.

Characters include one narrator and 13 character roles. Roles can be combined to accommodate a smaller group with 7 character roles. The script is 10 pages and the presentation lasts 10-15 minutes. A sample of the text can be found below.

The story contained in this script covers the Christmas story from Gabriel's appearance to the Virgin Mary, his message to Joseph, the journey to Bethlehem, no room in the inn, the shepherds in the field, the wise men and their star, and a collection of verses about Jesus, the Messiah in the final scene.

The skit is sectioned into 5 parts and can be presented in small segments over 5 days or presented all at once for a cohesive presentation.

PDF and Doc files are both available for easy editing and printing.

Script Sample

Narrator: There once was a girl named Mary. She was kind and faithful. She trusted God and loved him very much.

Enter Mary.

Narrator: Mary was engaged to get married to a man named Joseph. One day, her life changed forever.

Enter Gabriel.

Gabriel: Hello Mary! You are highly favored by God! He is with you!

Mary steps back and covers her mouth, frightened.

Gabriel: Don’t be afraid Mary! God has chosen you! I’m here to tell you the good news. You will have a baby. A boy who will save the world! You must name him Jesus. He will be the Messiah, the Son of God!

Mary: (nervously) But…how will this be? I haven’t even gotten married yet!

Gabriel: God will be with you. His Word will never fail.

Mary: I am his servant. May your words all come true!

Gabriel and Mary exit.
