Description

This is a GREAT activity that I've used for years to get students thinking about stereotypes, assumptions, and identity. I've adapted it this year for remote learning to make it super easy for students to fill in the various sections.

Students use an iceberg as a visual metaphor to think about

- Assumptions others may make about them based on their visible identity that AREN'T true

- Assumptions others may make about them based on their visible identity that ARE true

- Identities they hold "below the surface" that aren't visible

- Their dreams

The best way to assign this is on Google Classroom, using the "Make a Copy for Each Student" feature.

This year, we made these and then answered questions about our identities using FlipGrid and it was a great lesson!
