Description

Social Emotional Learning, SEL is an educational approach that addresses students’ emotional, individual needs and social strategies. Since the 1980s CASEL among other groups, have been researching and implementing SEL. It has been proven in studies that students who receive SEL instruction raise their test scores an average of 8 points and have less behavioral referrals.

This collection of task cards includes brain breaks, breathing strategies, opening/closing activities and morning meetings. You can also use the home connections to reinforce the practice with families. Please feel free to add or take out anything that you feel will better serve your students.

You will find ways to enhance community and culture. There are many ideas for morning meetings, brain breaks and opening/closing activities. These lessons will encourage growth mindset and better focus.

Check out the SEL handbook that is a great accompaniment to this resource. It has teacher notes and background information as well as steps to create your work agreements.
