* Wednesday-Friday: Spotlighting classic children’s literature and new titles that emphasize Social Emotional Learning (SEL),  20 books have been chosen specifically to feature a segment of the SEL CASEL Core 5 Competencies. These lessons encompass Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision Making, and Relationship Skills.

The Teacher Tool Kit is equipped with a synopsis of the story and objectives for language arts lessons. The Tool Kit combines exposure to exciting vocabulary and the development of skills to increase the students’ interest and motivation to read, write, speak and use critical thinking. The lessons offer a combination of effective teaching strategies that include an SEL competency giving the teacher a “2 for 1” lesson that is ready to use!

Bonus Feature for Parents:

Also included are Conversation Cards (size 7x5in) for students to take home and share with their families. Using these cards reinforces the SEL competencies being taught weekly and they provide great opportunities for family discussions. Also featured in Spanish!
