A great range of topics that can enhance your science lessons throughout the school year! The included work has been designed for Grades 7th – 10th but some minor changes should make it perfect for older or younger students as needed (all assignments are easy to edit for both ability level and to use with online distance learning).

    Directions on each webquest are clear and concise for students. All of the products in this bundle are ideal for emergency plans or sub plans. No prep needed just PRINT & GO!

    Included with this bundle package are the following assignments:

    1 – MOST DANGEROUS VOLCANOES WEBQUEST
    This webquest is a great addition to any volcano or earth science unit. The webquest uses two specific websites. The first website will guide students through eight of the most dangerous volcanoes on Earth and why each has been classified as such. The second website provides a timeline and data of the volcanoes that have killed the most people in recorded history.

    2 – MOST POWERFUL EARTHQUAKES WEBQUEST
    This webquest is a great addition to any earthquake or earth science unit. The webquest uses one specific website that will guide students through the ten most powerful earthquakes of the past 100 years. Website link and QR code are provided on the assignment.

    3 – SKELETAL SYSTEM WEBQUEST
    The focus of this human body webquest is on the skeletal system. The webquest helps students identify key parts of the body system as well as diseases, facts, functions, classifications, and more.
    Part 1 of this internet assignment use two specific websites (links provided on sheet).
    Part 2 of this internet assignment is a diagram that can be completed with a general search.

    4 – BRAIN CONDITIONS WEBQUEST
    This is a great webquest to use in Health-Science classes when focusing on the human body and brain including: headaches, concussions, and strokes! The webquest uses information from Kids Health.com and the specific links are provided. This is a great and easy assignment that can be used for emergency plans and to allow the incorporation of technology into your lesson (computer lab or even student phones!)

    5 – MARINE ECOSYSTEMS WEBQUEST
    The focus on the webquest is 9 major ocean ecosystems and the animals that live in each one and the challenges and structures that make each ecosystem unique. Students will read and learn about different life in each ecosystem and where these ecosystems are on our planet (above and below sea level). Ideal for classwork, homework, extra credit, and distance learning!

    6 – ECOLOGY DEFINITION AND SLIDESHOW PROJECT
    This vocabulary webquest assignment is perfect for distance learning and technology integration with science. Works great as a 2-3 hour or multi-class period project as well. Perfect to use for Earth Day activity.
    DEFINITION WORK: Students are given 40 terms connected to the topic of ECOLOGY. They choose 20 of the terms and use a resource (Internet, textbook, dictionary, etc...) to identify and write the best definition for the term.
    SLIDESHOW PROJECT: Students choose 10 of the terms that they chose for their definition work. They design a slideshow (Google Slides, Prezi, Power Point, etc...) following the rubric example and steps provided on their assignment.
    GOOGLE SLIDESHOW: A link is provided for a layout for the project which helps give students a great starting point. Add to your Google Classroom in seconds.

    7 – BACTERIA WEBQUEST
    The focus on the webquest is general information about bacteria. Students will read and learn about: pros and cons of bacteria, how bacteria reproduce, species of bacteria, bacteria in the human body, what makes bacteria different from cells, and more! This is an excellent assignment for any human body unit or biology class, and also goes great as an informational reading assignment. Ideal for distance learning or homework! QR code provided!

    8 – EXTINCT ANIMALS WEBQUEST
    The focus on the webquest is general information about 10 famous extinct animals as well as general background on the animals and theories on their extinction. Students will find the article fascinating and gain knowledge about a number of reasons that species on our planet have become extinct!

    9 – CAREER WEBQUEST – HEALTH EDUCATOR
    This www.sciencebuddies.org webquest helps students learn about the basics of this career choice, how it connects to the fields of science, biology, and health. Students will read and learn why this is an important career in the health field for people of all ages. Career topics covered also include: high school courses, education training requirements, qualifications, on-job expectations and more for those who enter this important career field! A great career choice that connects science, physical education, and health! The website also includes a short career focus video.

    10 – CAREER WEBQUEST – EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
    This www.sciencebuddies.org webquest is great for cross-curriculum and helps students learn about the basics of this career choice, how it connects to science, STEM, and health, high school courses and education training requirements for the career, qualifications as well as on-job training, expectations for those who enter this important engineering career field, projects to build career-skills, why this career is important, and more! A short career video is also included on the website.

    11 – PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS – SCAVENGER HUNT WEBQUEST
    This is a great webquest to use for BACK TO SCHOOL or an END OF THE YEAR REVIEW in science and chemistry classrooms! This webquest has 26 questions relating to the Periodic Table of Elements. The webquest is set up as a scavenger hunt with the questions and answers going in order Letter A to Letter Z. It does not use one specific website but will require your students to "quest" through the Internet searching for answers. All students need is access to the Internet!

    12 – PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS – GENERAL REVIEW WEBQUEST
    This is a great for general review/introduction to the Periodic Table of Elements. It works perfectly as a class assignment, homework, sub plans, or as extra credit. A Periodic Table of Elements is NOT required to complete the webquest. The webquest does not use one specific website but will have students using search engines to "quest" for answers to questions such as: Who discovered the most elements on the Periodic Table? What are the five most common gas elements in the air we breathe? What were two contributions made by Marie Curie to the Periodic Table?

    13 – INVENTION & TECHNOLOGY WEBQUEST
    This webquest will serve as a quick introduction or review of various forms of machines, technology, and inventions. Students will read and learn about different forms of technology that have changed human society (a timeline website is also included). This webquest is ideal for classwork, homework, sub plans, extra credit, and distance learning!

    14 – DINOSAUR TIME PERIODS WEBQUEST
    The focus on the webquest is general information about dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Students will read and learn about different species of dinosaurs from each time period including: physical characteristics, herbivore/carnivore, biped/quadruped, fossil location discovery, and more! Ideal for classwork, homework, extra credit, and distance learning!

    15 – CRYPTOZOOLOGY & BIGFOOT WEBQUEST
    This webquest is perfect for the Halloween season! The focus of the webquest is the area of pseudoscience or cryptozoology (the search for evidence of unknown animal species). This is a nice break from the usual science discussion as students will have a chance to learn about Bigfoot, Nessie, the Jersey Devil, the Mothman, and a brief history of the field of cryptozoology. The second website shows 10 famous photographs of Bigfoot with information about when and where the pictures were taken. This is a fun webquest that usually gets students excited about the topic of "Are monsters real?", and it works great during the fall season.

    16 – SPACE TECHNOLOGY WEBQUEST – MARS MISSIONS
    The focus on the webquest is general information about NASA's plans to explore Mars and their specific forms of technology used from 2001-2021. Students will read and learn about different satellites, landers, and rovers that have explored the red planet of our solar system. Ideal for classwork, homework, extra credit, and distance learning!

    17 – SPACE TECHNOLOGY WEBQUEST – NASA TIMELINE 2001-2020
    The focus on this timeline webquest is space technology (history, goals, destinations, and achievements) from 2001-2020. Students will read and learn about different forms of space technology (satellites, probes, and space stations) developed by NASA and other space agencies. Ideal for classwork, homework, extra credit, and distance learning!
