All of these assignments for perfect for distance learning and can be easily modified to work with Google Classroom.

Included with this bundle package are the following assignments:

    1) SCIENCE CAREERS WEBQUEST & PUZZLE

-Science Career Webquest (listing 31 careers) - 2 variations

    -Vocabulary Puzzle Grid

Students are tasked to choose several careers from a chosen list and do quick research of how the career connects to science and how the career benefits society. The additional puzzle includes all 31 careers.

This assignment is perfect to improve class discussions, sharing, open-ended writing, and comparing/contrasting.

    2) HUMAN BODY INTERNET SCAVENGER HUNT

This is a 20-question Internet scavenger hunt focusing on all aspects of the human body. It's great to use as review, as an introduction to a unit, and provides excellent material for classroom discussion.

    3) FAMOUS SCIENTISTS WEBQUEST & PUZZLE

Students are provided a list of famous scientists and are tasked with doing basic research on these famous individuals. Items researched include: year of birth, country of birth, facts on their life, and primary contribution they made to the field of science. This is the perfect beginning point for either a longer research paper or a focused writing assignment.

Also included is a puzzle sheet on famous scientists and famous inventions.

    4) EARTH VOCABULARY WEBQUEST-CROSSWORD

This webquest-crossword puzzle challenges students to identify or research 50 different vocabulary terms based on the provided definitions.

The focus of this assignment is on EARTH (works especially good around Earth Day, April 22). Examples of some answers included are: atmosphere, lithosphere, continents, oceans, pollution, mantle, volcano, ecology, latitude, erosion, and 40 others.

Students love webquests and worksheets that feel more like a game so this assignment combines them for the best of both worlds. It's great to use as homework or extra credit as well! *Answer Key Provided*

    5) 8 PLANETS WEBQUEST

This webquest is a great addition to any unit focusing on Space and Planets. The webquest can be completed at one website www.space-facts.com which also makes it easy to assign for homework.

In total there are 50-questions with an even assortment of questions for all eight planets in the Milky Way Galaxy (sorry Pluto!). Questions focus on: rotation, orbit, temperature, spacecraft exploration, moons, and plenty more.

    6) WEATHER CONDITIONS CHART WEBQUEST

This is a great webquest / Internet assignment to use near the beginning of any unit focusing on weather (works good using school technology or for homework).

FRONT SIDE - Students will go to the website www.weather.gov and complete a chart identifying current temperature and weather details for 17 U.S. cities. Some of the cities are identified and others are for student choice. The chart can be easily modified in minutes to make any changes you want. Because of the nature of the assignment, the chart will change every day much like the weather changes so an answer key will also need to be filled out by a teacher the day of the assignment.

BACK SIDE - Students will go to the website www.weatherforyou.com/history/ to identify three significant weather/disaster events that occurred on this date in history. Students will then change the date to their birthdate to find what weather events occurred at that time.

This is a quick and fun assignment that most students really enjoy since it shows them a wide range of current weather in our country and gives them a historical look at weather events. Great for discussion the following day.

    7) WEATHER VOCABULARY WEBQUEST CROSSWORD

This webquest-crossword puzzle Challenges students to identify or research 40 different vocabulary terms based on the provided definitions.

The focus of this assignment is WEATHER. Examples of some of the words included are: El Nino, humidity, Fujita Scale, monsoon, troposphere, climate, smog, cirrus cloud, meteorologist, anemometer, and 30 others.

Students love webquests and worksheets that feel more like a game so this assignment combines them for the best of both worlds. It's great to use as homework or extra credit as well! *Answer Key Provided*

    8) CRYPTOZOOLOGY WEBQUEST WITH POWER POINT RUBRIC

Students love this webquest (especially those who watch shows like Finding Bigfoot, Monster Quest, or who enjoy Urban Legends). I use this as an introduction to the area of Cryptozoology and how scientists are constantly searching for new species or attempting to debunk fake claims.

The webquest tasks students with finding five cryptids that have been researched by scientists. Students need to identify dates, claims, and "evidence" that was found of the cryptid. A Venn Diagram is included for students to either use to compare/contrast two of their cryptids or to partner work.

Then students will design a 10-slide power point / Prezi of their researched Cryptids.

    9) SPEED WEBQUEST AND PROBLEMS

Included with this assignment are two separate worksheets that focus on the concept of SPEED and how it is calculated. Both sheets work perfectly as homework, extra credit, or quick classroom assignments.

1 - SPEED WEBQUEST - various question relating to the concept of speed for students to research on the Internet including: fastest ten Olympic 100m runners, top 10 fastest land animals, and top speeds achieved by various technology.

2 - SPEED PROBLEMS - a follow-up to the webquest with a variety of quick calculation problems to determine speed of Olympic runners, animals, NASCAR, and Indy. These problems are quick to solve but lend themselves to numerous classroom discussions and comparisons as you work through a unit focusing on Motion & Energy (or could be incorporated with Math classes).

    10) HUMAN BODY NERVOUS SYSTEM WEBQUEST & WORDSEARCH

This assignment is perfect for homework, extra credit, or a quick in-class Internet assignment.

On the front side is a short webquest where 24 sentences are provided and students must identify which key vocabulary term of the human nervous system is being described.

The back side is a 20 word nervous system wordsearch.

    11) SCIENCE CAREER WEBQUEST: CIVIL ENGINEERING

The focus of this two-part career webquest is on the science careers - CIVIL ENGINEER and CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN. The webquest helps students learn about the basics of these career choices, how they connect to science, high school and college course requirements for the careers, job training, expectations for those who enter these career fields above and beyond the day-to-day training and education.

    12) SCIENCE CAREER WEBQUEST: MICROBIOLOGIST

The focus of this career webquest is on the science career - Microbiologist. The webquest helps students learn about the basics of this career choice, how it connects to science, high school and college course requirements for the career, job training, expectations for those who enter this career field, and the different roles a microbiologist may play in the food industry, research field, or medical profession.

    13) ANIMAL CELL DIAGRAM WEBQUEST

WEBQUEST DIAGRAM: Students are given a diagram of the animal cell with the names of the 14 key organelles removed. They will need to find examples online to identify each organelle. This is a great diagram to color print for students as a resource as well. A blank diagram is also provided for ease of displaying on the class Smartboard or white board. WEBQUEST DEFINITIONS: Students will then use the Internet to find definitions for each of the 14 organelles identified in their diagram

ANSWER KEY PROVIDED FOR BOTH DIAGRAM AND DEFINITIONS.

    14) PALEONTOLOGY WEBQUEST

The focus on the webquest is general information about paleontology. Students will read and learn about the science field of paleontology, sub-fields of paleontology, types of fossils, active fossil sites, and more! Ideal for distance learning or homework! QR code provided!

    15) ROBOTICS: TIMELINE & NASA WEBQUEST

The focus on the webquest is: history of robotics (through a timeline) and how NASA uses robotics in space probes. This should be a fun webquest and will give students plenty of information to think about concerning the history and modern day use of robotics to improve technology and human discovery. This is an excellent assignment for any machines or technology unit or STEM classroom, and also goes great as an informational reading assignment. Ideal for distance learning or homework!

    16) ENERGY: DEFINITIONS & SLIDESHOW

DEFINITION WORK: Students are given 32 terms connected to the topic of energy. They choose 20 of the terms and use a resource (Internet, textbook, dictionary, etc...) to identify and write the best definition for the term.

SLIDESHOW PROJECT: Students choose 10 of the terms that they chose for their definition work. They design a slideshow (Google Slides, Prezi, Power Point, etc...) following the rubric example and steps provided on their assignment.

DOC & PDF Versions! The worksheet is given as a MS-Word document (DOC) which will allow easy modifying to fit your class. It is also provided as a PDF for ease of use/printing. Answer key is not included.
