Looking for an easy, effective way to improve your students' vocabulary and incorporate SAT and ACT prep in your classroom? This resource provides a challenging, fun, no-prep vocabulary program (200 SAT/ACT vocabulary words) with tons of activities designed for maximum retention and mastery of use in context.

The premise behind the creation of this resource is that a broad, rich vocabulary is vital to students’ language skills. Yet a practical, working knowledge of vocabulary can’t be gained through word memorization alone. My goal was to make it easy for teachers to implement a quality, comprehensive vocabulary program that builds language skills holistically, without diverting valuable classroom time from other important curriculum objectives.

Included are 200 SAT/ACT vocabulary words broken into lists of 10 words each and accompanied by tons of activities that cover synonyms, word forms, and use in context. Also included are quizzes for each word list, cumulative review activities, cumulative exams covering 100 words each, and answer keys for all activities and assessments.

Ideal as a regular weekly assignment, the activities for each list of 10 words will build students' working vocabulary and understanding of contextual meaning. The activities incorporate a variety of research-based methods that help students not only remember new vocabulary words but also use them correctly.

Grades: 7+

Suggested use: 1 packet of 10 words + activities assigned per week (for independent work), with weekly quizzes. 2 weeks+ for each cumulative review.

Estimated completion times: 1.5-3 hours for each set of activities, 30 minutes per quiz, 3+ hours for cumulative review activities and 50 minutes for each exam.
