Description

These rubrics help Chinese teachers evaluate student speaking and writing in ways that are proficiency-based and about developing communication skills.

The seven rubrics:

Interpersonal Communication Skills rubric (used to evaluate in-class behaviors that correlate to how languages are acquired -- one version for daily use, another version for week-long use);
Rubric for Fluency Writing;
Rubric for Writing with length required;
Rubric for Speaking - interview style;
Rubric for Speaking - retelling class stories and scenes; and
Speaking Evaluation (in which students reflect on their current speaking ability in light of language acquisition processes).

With find-and-replace, teachers of other world languages could quickly modify these files for their own use. The concept of an Interpersonal Communication Skills rubric and my version of it came through the language teachers in Ben Slavic's Professional Learning Community.
