Description
This FREE resource is intended to be used as either an instructional tool or an intervention tool with students. It assists in providing a numeracy basis for rounding whole numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000. A significant number of 3rd through 6th graders do not possess the mental placement of the physical location of the number that they are attempting to round to the desired value. Hence, this exercise affords students a global picture with practice in understanding multiples of 10, 100, 1,000 or 10,000 as well as their midpoint values --- ALL foundational recognition skills that are required for students to ascertain in order to round [their number] to the correct value. Best of luck with your students. Blaine Helwig
