Description
The following eight-page study guide film packet that can be used in an English, film studies, or media studies class is used to accompany John G. Avildsen's American boxing sports drama "Rocky" written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. Pages three, four, five, and six contain comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's camera movement, characterization, cinematography, conflict, costume design, editing, inferences, irony, mood, movement, plot, setting, sound, story, and style. The seventh page contains discussion questions on the work's acting, allusions, archetypes, characterization, motifs, plot, legacy, setting, and style. The eighth and last page is a genre study page that asks students to analyze what is evident in "Rocky" as a sports film regarding its subject matter, style/technique, and morals/ideologies/themes.
A multiple choice quiz that can be used as a summative assessment with this packet, a formative assessment, is available as a separate purchase by clicking here.
