Roald Dahl Short Story Literary Analysis!

    Description

This short-story bundle for The Landlady, Man From the South and Lamb to the Slaughter, three of Roald Dahl's great short stories, helps make literary analysis easy! The thought of analyzing can be daunting for many students, so why not make it fun with all the delightful dark humor of Roald Dahl?

Let students start off their learning adventure by getting to know Dahl with a web quest. After the webquest you then have the option to have students write their own biography for Roald Dahl. The biography will give them practice toward the bundle bonus literary analysis.

This bundle includes complete lesson plans for three of his classic short stories: Man From the South, The Landlady and Lamb to the Slaughter. All three clearly exhibit Dahl’s quirky humor and charm while showcasing a variety of literary elements such as direct and indirect characterization, foreshadowing, simile, metaphor, mood/tone, motif, theme and more!

Each of these thorough lessons contains an activating activity, vocabulary (“Man From the South” does not have vocabulary due to its simple and concise language), during reading questions, post reading quiz, and, each lesson contains an alternate post reading assignment to use in place of the quiz if you so desire!

Detailed answer keys and rubrics included for everything!

Bonus: Literary analysis summative activity! With! a differentiated visual literary analysis PowerPoint option for the more reluctant learners! Each analysis comes with a rubric!

**This bundle contains ZIP files with PDFs; they are not editable. This is to help protect my work. If you are looking for something editable, this product does not give that capability.  However, all PDFs can be used with distance learning, by using the mark up tools within the PDF.**
