Description
Common Core Standards: 8.G.3
This activity is a challenging, out-of-the-box way to work on transformations. Students will practice the rigid transformations - translation, rotation, and reflection. They should already be comfortable with how to generate an image given a certain transformation rule.
They will be given a set of pre-images to manipulate. Each small piece will fit together like a jigsaw puzzle to make one big shape. It is a great self-checking activity; the final shape is symmetrical over the y-axis and has no overlap, so it should be easy for students to check their own work.
Included:
*Instructions and Standards Correlation Sheet
*Transformations Jigsaw Student Instructions Sheet
*Blank Master Graph
