Description

The Writing Around the World series is perfect for combining English, literature, and writing skills with geography and world cultures.

Did you know that French writers have had more Literature Nobel Prizes than any other nation? Sully Prudhomme was awarded the very first Literature Nobel Prize in 1901 “in special recognition of his poetic composition, which gives evidence of lofty idealism, artistic perfection and a rare combination of the qualities of both heart and intellect.” We will look at one of his poems and write a poem with an ABAB rhyming pattern.

As a homeschool mom of 7 children, I understand the challenges in teaching multiples ages at once, so I have included an alternate assignment for early writers (fill in the blanks with a rhyming word) and pre-writers (matching rhyming pictures).
