What educators are saying

This is my first year teaching AP Language and Composition. I was looking for a way to assess my students before starting the unit and then some kind of way to assess them at the end. This was the perfect resource without me having to do the legwork! Much appreciated for the resource! A++++

Description

This resource is now included in the Rhetorical Analysis BIG Bundle! Be sure to check this out before you buy this resource seperately.

These two assessments work as either 2 final assessments or a pre-test, post-test for a rhetorical analysis unit. They can also be used as a formative assessment as students practice rhetorical analysis skills. The skills focuses are on identifying ethos/pathos/logos in a speech, and explaining how the writer uses this language to appeal to a specific audience. Each speech is included in the document with specific annotation instructions and analysis questions, along with the scoring rubric printed on each document. Perfect for AP LANGUAGE!

In Illinois, we are required to set Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) and measure student growth as part of our evaluation. I am proud to share these with fellow teachers in the hope that you can spend less time creating assessment tools and more time helping your students grow!

These documents are fully editable!

For a fun, project-based introduction to rhetorical analysis, let your students RUN FOR PRESIDENT!
