Description
This Remembrance Day in Canada activity includes 5 different writing prompts to create a beautiful art project: a class quilt display. Use this fun art and writing project to make a group bulletin board display to honour our Canadian veterans. The writing activities can also be used for discussions on conflict resolution as well as teaching about peace.
There are two different quilt size patterns to choose from, (4 squares per page or 2 squares per page. Choose the size that you best suits your needs.) There is also a banner, "Lest We Forget", included (color and b/w).
There are several options to make the Remembrance Day Quilt:
- students can all complete the SAME writing prompts or
- they can complete DIFFERENT writing prompts.
Writing prompts included are:
- Why I Wear a Poppy
- Conflict Resolution (a time I had a conflict and how I resolved it)
- Thank You Note for Veterans
- Acrostic Poem: PEACE
- Peace Begins with Me (at home, at school and in the community)
