Description
This informational reindeer unit is perfect for reviewing nonfiction reading strategies with a focus on text features and main idea and key details. The unit begins with a text feature Google Slides presentation. Students then use what they have learned about text features to play a memory or match up game. Main idea and key details are reviewed prior to reading the included All About Reindeer presentation. After reading, students complete a reindeer craft to show their knowledge of main idea/key details. This craft is perfect for a December or Christmas bulletin board!
There are several extra activities included at the end of this unit. There is a student booklet that corresponds with the included All About Reindeer presentation. You will also find extra passage activity sheets that focus on main idea and detail and text features. A fun text feature scavenger hunt is also included.
