Recycling Research Project w/ Rubric (Middle School)
- Google Docs™
Description
This resource is designed to introduce a recycling unit to middle school aged students. This project is designed to promote student-centered learning by providing prompts to help the students research key ideas about recycling locally, enviromentally, and ecomonically.
The project is for students to design/create a canva poster or google slides presentation about one of these five areas. The discussion questions allow for the students to have a guide to dive into recycling and how they can make the world a greener place.
I use this project in my creative repurpsoing class to help get my students to think about what they use and how they can reuse those items or get them to a place that will reuse them.
The resource contains the follow:
1.) Discussion prompts for the following recycling topics: Recycling Facilities, Consquences of not Recycling, Global Scale Recycling, Recycling Organizations/Companies, and Promotion/Information of Recycling.
2.) Detailed rubric outlining specific academic expectations for the project.
3.) Instructions for how to begin the assignment.
How I implement this project is to break each topic into a seperate poster. That means there are five posters. If you have big classes, working in groups of two helps, but with all the information, students can really attack each prompt differently to make unique posters on the same topic!
I hope you enjoy!
