This reading bundle has a total of 530 task cards, 15 reading skills worksheets, and a reusable spinner game. There are 32 task cards each for author's purpose, cause and effect, character traits, idioms, text structures, and word meaning. There are 68 task cards for compare and contrast, 42 task cards for figurative language, 36 task cards for categories, and differentiated sets of 64 task cards each for details, inference, and main idea. Kids LOVE the spinner game!
The differentiated sets for making inferences, main idea, and supporting details include 64 task cards for each skill divided into two sets of 32 cards each. One set of task cards is simpler than the other set. All these resources have been successfully used in grades 3-4 for review, small group interventions, and test prep. The task cards can also be used for whole-class activities and learning centers. The worksheets are great anytime.
In the spinner game, students gain and lose chips in an attempt to be the first to cover the words on their game boards. Kids BEG to play Super Spinner Winner! One of the things they really love is that the spinner is designed in such a way that they might get lucky and get bingo chips for nothing. I have all students read and answer aloud so that everyone hears and gets the review, even if it is someone else's turn.
As an added BONUS, you can reuse the spinners and the game boards you copy and laminate over and over again with other task cards...or even cut-up worksheets!
