What educators are saying

Great resource. Really easy to follow and the different activities really helped my students stay engaged!
This is a great resource to work on comprehension skills! I love using it as morning work or independent work!

Description

This is a fantastic and fun way to get your students to pay attention to the details. Student will get to use different colored highlighters to highlight different details from 10 different stories. After paying such close attention to the details, it will be easy for the students to find out what the main idea is! :)

Your students will read each passage. There are 4 activities for each story.

1. Read the passage and then answer the questions below. The students should highlight in the passage where they were able to find the details to support their answer.

2. Read the passage and then answer “Who”, “What”, “Where”, “When”, and “Why”. Students will need to follow the highlighting color code to show where in the passage they found those details.

3. Illustrate the story and then extend the story by answering the question provided. Encourage the students to use details from the story to support why the events they write about would be likely to happen.

4. Read the passage and write down what the main idea is.

Materials Needed: Highlighters (Green, Blue, Pink, Yellow, & Orange.)
