WHAT’S INCLUDED:
1. Reading Comprehension Strategies Word Wall:
These half page word wall cards are perfect for displaying terms that students will come across in reading strategy instruction without taking up tons of wall space. Each card includes a student-friendly definition and supporting visual.
2. Reading Comprehension Strategies Anchor Charts:
These posters and anchor charts dig deeper into the word wall cards above. They are perfect for introducing a new comprehension strategy in a clear way for students. They are included as full page for instruction or half page size for student notebooks.
3. Reading Comprehension Strategies Bookmarks:
These interactive reading bookmarks are the perfect activity to reinforce using reading strategies during independent reading! The front side of each reading bookmark has a student friendly definition of the strategy with an aligning visual, details about how good readers use the strategy, and thinking stems to guide them in actively using the strategy during independent reading. The back side of each has places for students to actively use the strategy while reading.
4. Reading Comprehension Strategies Graphic Organizers:
This pack includes a simple poster for each reading comprehension strategy as well as 100+ graphic organizers, and activities are a must have for reading comprehension strategy instruction for both fiction and nonfiction texts.
5. Digital Reading Comprehension Strategies Graphic Organizers:
This pack is a digital version of the graphic organizers in the set above. They are a Google Slides resource, so students simply type their responses into text boxes.
6. Reading Comprehension Strategies Crafts:
Reading crafts are a fun way to switch up reading response activities. Graphic organizers are useful go-tos, but they are sometimes not enough to continually engage all of our growing readers. These reading comprehension strategies crafts are a fresh, engaging and unique way students can visually see each reading skill and strategy broken down. They require little to no prep, and the only materials needed are scissors and glue (metal fasteners needed for 2 fan crafts).
7. Digital Reading Comprehension Strategies Response Journal:
Digital reading response journals are an engaging way for students to practice reading comprehension strategies and take ownership of their learning. Each slide of the reading journal contains a poster on the left side of the response area. This gives a student-friendly definition of the reading strategy, a visual, how to use the strategy, and examples or thinking stems. It is such a helpful guide for students who are working independently. The response area comes in 3 options with 3 separate digital Google Slides™ links:
Graphic Organizer (1-2 per strategy)
Editable Prompt
Free-Write/Flex Space
8. Reading Comprehension Strategies Passages:
This bundle of engaging sets of reading comprehension strategies passages come with comprehension questions, reading strategy reflections, and unique graphic organizers. Each set targets comprehension strategies in a meaningful way that makes the strategy accessible to all students.
Each reading comprehension strategy comes with 4 reading passages (2 fiction and 2 nonfiction) that are written specifically to target that reading strategy. All passages are differentiated to meet the needs your students (Grade level equivalents of 3.0-5.0). They also come in both black and white or color printing options.
