Description

Incorporate nonfiction into your holiday reading with this fun nonfiction passage about reindeer. This passage is perfect for whole group or small group reading.

Students will learn about life on the tundra and about the many adaptations reindeer need to survive. This article discusses the diet of reindeer and gives information about baby reindeer!

After reading, students will complete 10 multiple choice, text dependent reading comprehension questions. This passage provides the opportunity to practice critical reading skills including genre identification, using context clues, making inferences, determining cause and effect, comparing and contrasting, and finding main idea and details.

One question requires students to select more than one answer. One question requires students to fill in a graphic organizer.

A teacher guide and answer key are included.
