Reading Comprehension 500 level intermediate 6 minute solution questions

Do you have difficulty finding appropriate materials and comprehension work for the wide spread of readers in your room. As we all know there can be a range of beginning 1st grade to upper 5th grade in a typical 3rd grade class. These materials are aligned with the 6 minute solution intermediate materials.

We assign students leveled passages for homework all week. Then each students has rigorous questions to do that work on common core standards. My partner teacher and I then divide up the 6 levels of kids and correct their papers with them to teach them strategies of referring to the text, highlighting, underlining, and using text based evidence to answer questions.

Skills addressed: main idea and details,author's purpose, summarizing statement, using evidence from the text, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, cause and effect diagrams, compare and contrast.

In order to use these materials you will need to have the 6 minute solution intermediate version. Passages are NOT included in this product. So whether you have access to the older version of 6 minute solution or the newer version these questions will help you monitor your students comprehension while reading complex non-fiction text. Passages can be located on the internet.
