Readers theater scripts - 4 Weather scripts, rubric & Power Point

With much to cover and limited time, these 4 weather reader’s theater scripts (plus Power Point and activities) help students cover language arts and science concepts together. A rubric (editable WORD document) is included so you can customize it to your class.

Up, Up and Away covers air pressure, layers of the atmosphere and ocean breezes in the context of a hot air balloon ride. FK reading level: 4.4
Christmas Vacation discusses the ocean’s effect on climate. FK reading level: 4.9
The Cloudy Saturday explains how clouds form and supports an experiment creating clouds in a bottle. FK reading level: 3.1
Balloons and Sea Breezes should be done after Christmas Vacation. FK reading level: 4.4

A 40 slide, graphics intensive Power Point is included with pre- and post- reading activities, writing prompts and diagrams for layers of the atmosphere, reading a weather map, ocean breezes, cloud types and weather instruments. Links to a number of free online games are included. All files are in a ZIP folder.

The experiments that go with these scripts are from the Virginia DOE site and are included in the free preview. (They are NOT included with the Power Point and scripts so be sure to download the preview) The weather and water cycle card game makes a great addition to this package.
