What educators are saying

My students are hesitant to read aloud, and our class period is 45 minutes, so this was a great adaptation to get the key points of the story. We very much enjoyed reading this together.
My students loved performing this! Which speaks volumes because many have difficulty decoding and reading with fluency. In this case, it didn't matter! They had a blast and are more motivated to read.

Description

This Reader's Theater Script is easy to follow and is based off of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. This is written at a level that 4th, 5th, and 6th graders can enjoy. During the holiday season I have enjoyed completing many projects with the text. One of my favorite projects is available here:

If you need extension projects or differentiated instruction, these Bloom's Taxonomy choice projects challenge students to think deeply about the text.

In the past my students have also enjoyed performing the script for their parents and making a movie version within our classroom. I hope you find a special way to integrate this holiday classic into your December lesson plans!
