Description
Teaching the origins and characteristics of Native American tribes is a key objective in upper elementary social studies. Follow a reporter as they visit the 5 main tribal areas of early North America including the Pacific Northwest, the Southwest, the Plains, the Northern Woodlands, and the Southeast. This set of 5 scripts provides 3 different reading levels and multiple character parts to ensure whole class participation! Reader’s Theater scripts will help students identify the unique characteristics while also reinforcing oral speaking skills, expression, and reading fluency. An included chart will help students sort key information included in each script as they also practice key listening strategies. Information covered includes names and location of tribes, food and home types, and unique customs and ceremonies. This resource provides a great way to integrate social studies information with language arts skills in the upper elementary setting.
