Readers Theater: California Gold Rush

Wagons, Ho! is a Readers Theater script on the California Gold Rush. Perfect for grades 3 through 8, it can be used with a small group or with the entire classroom. It shows the journey the wagon trains took from Independence, Missouri to Sutter's Fort and then on to Angel's Camp in 1849 during the California Gold Rush. This script also contains three folk songs for students to sing during the play. American history comes alive for your students as they join a wagon train and head west in their search for gold.
