This interactive reading activity fully covers your content in rhyme. Students read together in small groups to increase success in fluency, reading achievement, and comprehension when reading about Chinese life and philosophies.

KEY TERMS, PEOPLE, AND PLACES in this product are Period of the Warring States, philosophy, Confucius, Confucianism, aristocratic, The Analects, Laozi, Daoism, Han Fei Zi, legalism, artisans, and filial piety.

This reading strategy was the subject of doctoral research and is research-proven to be effective in increasing fluency, engagement, and success in reading comprehension while meeting national and state standards.

This fun and interactive middle school or high school reading activity has parts for four speakers.

When students finish reading together as a small group activity, select a few to perform for the whole class.

Think of it this way:

This reading activity is written in rhyme.

Student read in small groups, one at a time.

Divide your class into groups to start.

Students then select a part.

After they read, choose a few volunteers,

To perform it for everyone’s eyes and ears.

Fluency improves, and students connect with text.
