Writing Rubrics for Young Authors: Teaching writing to primary students can be a challenge. They don't always have a lot of grit or stamina. They often need visual supports to understand what we are asking of them. With that in mind, I have developed these visual rubric posters to help students understand expectations and self-assess their writing!

- 1 blank writing page to match the posters
How can I use this resource?
- This resource will be perfect for your Writer's Workshop lessons and your writing center!
- Teach students what 5 star writing really looks like.
- Use the posters to do a mini-lesson and then display them.
- Then follow up with the printable self-assessment rubrics!
- I am also printing up the one page summary page to put in each of my students' writing folders this year.
- The NO PREP rubrics (that print 4 to a page) are fantastic to use periodically with your class because student-led assessments are so valuable!
