Description

Jungle Boogie! Work on ensemble skills, creative composition and review what students have been learning about the rainforest biome in science class!

Most curriculums have students learning about Biomes in grades 3-8. For upper elementary music education, students are working on ensemble skills where they can perform independent rhythms/melodies in specific musical forms, and create their own patterns to use in performance. This lesson presents a great cross curricular opportunity for students to recall and review what they are learning about the rainforest biome and apply it to a creative musical performance. Through this lesson students are also exposed to an R&B/pop classic that inspires higher level thinking when discussing the musical elements present.
