RTI Progress Monitoring: Sight Words {First, Second, Third Grade Dolch Words}

I created this little bundle because I had a great NEED in my classroom for some quick and simple progress monitoring tools. My goal was for these printables to be quick, effective, and to show students and parents RESULTS! I hadn’t planned to use each of these assessments as instructional material; however, I have found that they actually do provide some great instruction! My kiddos are so excited to improve their scores that they are practicing these words each night! Sometimes, a little motivation can go a long way!!

How it works:
Each student has one minute to read as many sight words as possible.
Each student must write 10 sight words. (As the words are mastered, students can move to the next list.)

-Scores are determined by subtracting the misread words from the total number of words read.
-I DO NOT write on the sheet that my students use to read each word. {I like to laminate one set of word cards to use over and over!}
-After the minute is up, I review the words that the child misread.
-Each child gets to take his/her word sheet home to practice reading to parents, animals, or pets.
